This little village is famous for its traditional craft of weaving or also known as “Songket”. Almost every family on this village does the job. Most of the women in this village Sukarara worked as a weaver to maintain and preserve the culture of traditional hand weaving. There traditionally trained village product using array of fine cotton, silk to create their original design.

Rambitan and Sade are the most interesting villages where most of the inhabitants practice and maintain their traditional and cultural values.

Sasak villages are distinctively marked by grass-roofed-houses symmetrically constructed on wood frames and bamboo walls. Bale is the type of house, built with single room functioning both as a sleeping room and kitchen. Lumbungs is a curve-like construction used as storage for rice.

Along the tour you will see many locals that sell hand-made souvenirs like hand-woven fabric, t-shirts, bracelets, key chains etc. You also can learn how to weave the traditional way as well as go to their houses so you can see their bedroom and kitchen.

Banyumulek village is also known for one main trade. In this case its pottery! In Banyumulek village, making pottery has been in the Sasak Lombok tribe for generations. Pottery making has been able to move the village economic wheel and attract many visitors and buyers to come to this village.

When entering Banyumulek village, you will be welcomed by a green gate which says ‘Banyumulek, Pottery Centre’. Even the school and local government offices are decorated by huge potteries in the gate fence.

Along the street, many Lombok galleries can be found. All you have to do is just choose which one you want to visit. Amongst them, there is a major gallery you can find, where your eye will be spoiled by the various kinds of Lombok pottery with various shapes, size, color, functions, and uniqueness. Some of them are egg-shaped earthen pot, sand flower vase, sand flat vase, chicken-shaped bank, jar, lampshade, and various wall decorations in many sizes.

According to a local people, the special item of the village is the thief kettle (kendi maling). In Indonesian, maling means thief. The name thief was given because to fill the kettle, you have to do it from a hole in the kettle’s bottom, like a thief who never takes a normal way. Even if the hole is in the kettle’s bottom, the water will not come out if the kettle is put like any other kettle. The kettle has been perfectly designed so the water will not come out from the bottom hole! Crazy!

Kuta Lombok:

Kuta is a coastal town in the south of the island of Lombok in Indonesia.

The scenery is spectacular, with cliffs and mountains reaching the coast to create jagged and awe- inspiring landscapes and views. The beaches are some of the best in Indonesia, with pristine white sand, and transparent blue-greens in the water. Kuta has some of the best surfing in the world, so naturally many visitors are surfers. Most of Kuta retains its sleepy, natural character as a typical fishing village. The local people live in housing clusters (called kampungs) and are largely unaffected by tourist activity. Travelers can walk along dirt roads and see the villagers going about their normal daily activities. Food is usually cooked over a wood fire and the children live a carefree life of playing on the beach and climbing trees. Most people are exceptionally friendly to foreigners.

Second Destination:

Tanjung Aan

Tanjung A’an comprises of two white sand bays, A’an to the west and Pedau to the east, separated by a rocky outcrop. Smooth turquoise waters offer safe swimming and snorkeling. There can be a strong current on the eastern bay at times. Beautiful little beach that actually stretches over a river mouth that must flow out to the sea occasionally. You can walk a long distance. Needs to be nearly high tide to swim. You can hire a boat and snorkelling gear to get out to a reef to snorkel on. There is a lot of actual surf out the outside heads and that’s where it looks like the boats go.

Third Destination:

Mawun beach

Mawun beach is a secluded half-moon bay with crystal clear water and pristine sand. There’s one big tree where people congregate in the shade. An awesome place for relaxing, safe swimming and surfing.

We will start the Island Hop Tour from Gili Trawangan public harbor and transfer to Lombok using public speed boat. Our Professional driver will be waiting for you with our “The Gili Guide” Sign with your name and take you to your first destination.

First Destination :

There is much more to Lombok’s west coast than Sengiggi and the Gili Islands. Sekotong is the next big thing on the traveller radar after years of quietly developing out of the limelight. It is the gateway to the rugged south west peninsular and only a short drive from the main ferry port at Lembar. At its heart is Sekotong Bay, a huge arc of white sandy beaches overlooking a small chain of islands, collective known as the ‘secret Gilis.’ These south west Gili islands are a far cry from their more famous cousins in the north and now attract a small but steady stream of weekend trippers and tourists looking for a real desert island escape.

Second Destination :

Gili Sudak

Gili sudak, a lovely small island providing beautiful white sand beach located in the east of Gili Nanggu. The reef is healthy and has an abundance of coral, that in most areas the reef is just 30cm from the surface. We must be careful to not step on the beautiful coral!

Third Destination :

Gili Kedis :

Kedis is tiny: no bigger than the size of a tennis court, except round, with a few trees in the middle.  It’s known locally as “honeymoon island”, possibly because there’s only enough room for two people to comfortably occupy it at any one time!

Fourth Destination :

Gili Nanggu

This small remote island is situated off of south-west Lombok. This is an ideal destination for snorkelling. Nanggu is an absolute water paradise with white sand beaches and crystal clear turquoise water. Here you can experience the underwater world among thousands of tropical fish and various sea creatures. If you are lucky you may even see some sea turtles! Make sure you bring your underwater cameras as it is an experience you will want to capture forever!
