HEAD CHEF – ALEX UGOLINI
Born and raised in Avignon, France, Alex has been surrounded by cooking since he was a child, helping his mother as well as his Italian and French grandmothers in the kitchen.
At 15, he decided to pursue his passion and enrolled in the Cooking and Hospitality School of Cavaillon. After his training in Germany and Italy, he went on to work in famous kitchens such as Le Vivier, Le Bain-Marie and La Ferme where he was able to add his flair and personal touch to classic Mediterranean cuisine.
Last year Alex came to Indonesia, fell in love with the country, especially the Gilis, and decided to make it his new home. He dumped his suitcase full of French flavours and Mediterranean musings at Caballito de Mar’s doorstep, and we couldn’t be more happy to have him on board!
